Are you emo-fit?

I love this idea of being emotionally & mentally fit. Most often we hear the term fit or fitness, we think physically working out with an opportunity for gains (or losses, such is the case.) There is movement, there are goals, there is consistency and ultimately a real payoff.

So what does it mean to be emotionally or mentally fit? Usually we perceive this as a mental state or emotional well-being. It’s static without opportunity for progression.

Do you consider yourself to be emo-fit? How would one do this? What does it look like, what results would be yielded? What is the value behind it?

The value behind physical fitness are clear:

  • improve your sleep, help manage weight, reduce risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to move with ease.

What then are the results for practicing being emo-fit:

  • increase self-awareness, positive impact on relationships, improves leadership skills, resilience and connectivity and improves sleep

So seems reasonably good to say the least. How then do we get emo-fit?
